BACKGROUND: Born in Cartegena to American parents on an excavation. Her parents were killed when the ruins they were studying collapsed, crushing them both. She was raised by one of the hired hands working for her parents. As she grew up she developed an immense desire to follow in her parents' footsteps and became an archeologist herself. During an exploration of the ancient Myan ruins in Central America, she discovered a shrine to the God of the Bat. Part of the Shrine included a ruby statue of a bat. She picked up the statue to study it closer and activated the curse, and was transformed into a human bat.
